The sleeping giant has awakened

We all want choices in health care. But bigger government ultimately takes AWAY people's choices. Rampant spending and printing of currency is an issue for EVERY American, regardless of party affiliation. Can you spell B-A-N-K-R-U-P-T?

Conservatives DO want people to have choices. But bigger government ultimately takes AWAY people's choices. When it comes to health insurance, government regulations have prevented fair competition (confining the sale of policies within state lines, for instance). True conservatives were outraged at the spending under Bush – he wore a Republican “hat,” but he was no conservative! Obama, on the other hand, and his minions in Congress, used the economic “crisis” to pass every spending proposal they’d ever written. Stimulus? What jobs have they created other than for more government workers?

Regardless of how Congress votes -- on ANY issue -- bureaucrats in back offices (over whom YOU and I have no control) write the regulations, interpreting legislators’ broader concepts. And, as they say, the devil is in the details. Read a little history and you'll see the parallels between what is happening now in American government and the rise of dictatorships all over the world.

There are fringe elements on both sides of the political spectrum. But the "angry mobs" at Town Hall meetings are not among them. They are hard-working, fiscally conservative regular folks fed up with increasing government spending and the chipping away at their liberties. As one young woman said into the microphone, “You have awakened the sleeping giant.”

The government is doing such a great job with Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security that those programs are facing $53 Trillion in unfunded liabilities (http://bit.ly/yVHsI). Not to mention how well the Feds run Fannie Mae, Amtrak, the Postal Service and FEMA. Big bureaucracies are, at best, incompetent and, at worst, corrupt.

The Outrage Continues.
